What is Pallet Wrap?

Commonly used shipment solutions for pallets, pallet wrap helps maintain load stability for your palletised shipments. It is a crucial component in ensuring no waste in transit, whether on public roads or between different areas of your business premises. It can mean the difference between items and complete orders of products and goods coming loose and falling.

What Are the Different Kinds of Pallet Wrap and Stretch Film

A popular form of pallet wrap is hand pallet wrap, which can be applied manually or using various innovative dispensers. Typically, hand-wrap film is used for small to medium packaging operations where there is a low volume of pallets wrapped daily or where pallets are wrapped at multiple locations. Use the appropriate pallet wrap to reduce accidents and ensure the loads are always safe.

There are different hand stretch films based on their cores. Each of these makes them more suitable for applications:

  • Flush Core hand film is the best option when using a dispenser because a shorter cardboard core makes it easy to secure your dispenser.
  • Extended Core hand film is best when dispensing your pallet wrap film. A part of the core sticks out at both sides of the film to provide a spot where people can grip it when it is transported.
  • Machine Stretch Film is an alternative that is best when using pallet wrapping machines. Made from high-yield, high-performance material, it is a great way to secure pallets and ensure load stability.

Understanding Differences Between Pallet Wrap and Shrink Wrap

Although they are used similarly to cover palletised orders, shrink wrap and pallet firm differ. Pallet wrap is more flexible and can be stretched around your pallets to keep them in place and stop them from falling. However, stretch wrap’s elasticity keeps your loads together and secure. You must also know that shrink wrap provides a much looser fit when applied. When heat is applied, though, it shrinks and keeps your pallet and orders secure.
