Gas Shrink Gun Systems Information

How do heat guns work?

Heat guns, also known as heat shrink guns, are versatile tools used in various applications, including shrink-wrapping. The heat generated by these guns allows the shrink wrap to tightly conform to the pallet, reducing the risk of goods moving during transit.

  1. The Ripack guns are powered by a gas powered flame as the heat source.
  2. The hot air is directed onto the surface of the material.
  3. The heat causes the components of the plastic to soften and become pliable.
  4. As it softens, it begins to conform to the shape of the item being wrapped. This is referred to as ‘shrinking’.
  5. Once the heat source is removed, the plastic cools. This creates a sturdy, tightly wrapped pallet. This helps to prevent movement and tampering whilst also protecting the item from moisture or dust during transportation.
